This policy covers only the TinkAI Mirror browser extension, published by TinkAI, Rome, Italy. It is separate from the policy of the TinkAI website and platform.

1. What the extension does

TinkAI Mirror adds a button to claude.ai and chatgpt.com. When you click it, it reviews your prompts in that conversation and shows, for each prompt, whether you added your own reasoning, challenged the AI, or asked for a source, and whether you asked the AI to question you. Every “yes” is backed by your own words. You choose which prompts to include in a downloadable document. The extension also shows fixed method tips.

From version 1.2.0 it can also check sources: it lists the links the AI gave in its answers and the sentences the AI quoted from those pages. Only if you click “Check the sources” does it look for each quoted sentence on the public page. You can also mark a source as checked by yourself; this is your own declaration and Mirror does not verify it.

It assigns no scores or grades and is not a psychological or behavioral assessment.

2. Data the extension handles

  • The text of the conversation on supported AI chat pages (your messages and the AI’s answers), including the links the AI gave and the sentences it quoted.
  • The sources you add yourself and the sources you mark as checked. These stay on your device and in the document you choose to download.

The extension does not create any identifier for you and does not collect your name, email, browsing activity outside the supported chat pages, or financial, health or login data, and it does not try to determine your location.

3. How it is collected

  • While you view a supported chat page, the extension keeps a copy of the conversation on your device.
  • When you click Mirror, it may scroll the conversation to capture older messages.

4. Storage

Conversation text, links and quotes are kept only on your device, in the browser’s local storage. They are not stored on any server.

5. Retention and deletion

  • Captured text is deleted automatically after 30 days, and at most 15 conversations are kept.
  • You can delete all captured data at any time with the “Delete my data” control in the Mirror panel.
  • Uninstalling the extension stops capture and removes its local storage.

6. Data sent off your device

  • Nothing is sent while you browse or chat.
  • When you click Mirror, the conversation text is sent to TinkAI’s server (tinkai.ai) to produce the review. It is processed transiently by Google Vertex AI (Gemini, European region) as TinkAI’s analysis provider, under Google’s terms. TinkAI does not retain the text after the review is produced.
  • When you click “Check the sources”, only the links and the quoted sentences are sent to TinkAI’s server, never the conversation. The server opens each public page, looks for the sentence and returns the result. It identifies itself as “TinkAI-Mirror”, respects each site’s robots.txt and does not use an AI model for this step. Links, sentences and pages are not retained.
  • Like any website, TinkAI’s server receives your IP address with each request. TinkAI uses it only in hashed form, for up to two hours, to limit the number of requests and prevent abuse. It is not stored with your conversation. Our hosting provider may keep standard technical access logs.
  • TinkAI does not sell data, use it for advertising, or transfer it for any other purpose.

7. Permissions

  • Storage: keeps captured conversations locally and handles automatic deletion.
  • Access to claude.ai and chatgpt.com: reads the conversation and shows the Mirror button.
  • Access to tinkai.ai: sends the conversation for review when you click Mirror, and links with quoted sentences when you click “Check the sources”.

8. Legal basis

Where applicable (for example under the GDPR), the basis for sending a conversation, or links and quoted sentences, is your explicit click on Mirror or on “Check the sources”.

9. Children

The extension is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect their data.

10. Changes

Material changes will be posted here with a new “Last updated” date.
